South Africa’s TRC involved a trade off between truth and retributive justice. In a democracy such trade-offs need to be justified. In other words, South Africa needs to morally justify it’s failure to punish those who committed crimes during the apartheid years. Based on the readings, choose a justification and argue for it. Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.
